We are indeed creating something special
A community garden where people and nature can thrive together.
This will be a beautiful, shared space for everyone to enjoy:
A haven for wildlife
A place to grow fresh food
A peaceful spot to relax, connect, and enjoy the outdoors
Meeting weekly from our first session on Monday 5th July we’ve made a fantastic start, including a compost are, pruning the overgrown privet hedge and using the cuttings to form a dead hedge around the back of a future wildlife pond. The children have helped too, including footings for new raised beds, and building a hibernaculum—a cosy shelter for amphibians, insects, and fungi.
The value of our work has been recognised within the community including a £1300 grant through Belle Vale Matters which will be used to create a sensory space to be designed by our Children and Young people.
We wrap up each Monday Morning with with some well earned refreshments and time to chat and enjoy the space together.
Whether you’re a keen gardener, a nature lover, or simply looking for a way to meet new people and make a difference, Come and be part of something that brings joy, health, and community spirit. Let’s dig in, grow together, and create a space that benefits people and planet alike.
