These are the 5 prayer walks that we are inviting you to be involved in on Saturday 15th May.

This is a combination of several ideas that have come together from a common desire to prayer walk our deanery and connect our parishes in intercession.

There are no specific set routes apart from the ‘departure’ and ‘arrival churches', so feel free to be creative in your walk, taking in places you wish to pray for.

St Peter’s have kindly agreed to be a starting point, where we can meet to pray together to start off.

You may wish to do all three subsequent stops or just one, it is up to you obviously. Any prayer will be a blessing.

Some tips or ideas of how to pray and walk.

1.     Keep your eyes open!

2.     Look out for shops, businesses, schools, medical centres and pray for God’s blessing on them.

3.     If you have time, stop at a park bench, or sit on a convenient wall to pray.

4.     Pray for God’s Kingdom to come in our areas. Also his will to be done.

5.     Pray for people in the houses you pass. We’re praying that more people may come to know Jesus, particularly at this time.

6.     Sometimes praying in a rhythm that matches your walk helps. Just lift people’s names before God.

7.     Pray for Light to shine in the dark areas of our communities and city.

8.     At each church pray for those in attendance, for the leaders in the Church; That each will be a city on a hill, a light to the nations!

9.     Ask God to give you a Bible verse or passage to pray over the areas you walk.e.g. Psalm 48

10.  Lastly, enjoy God’s creation look for the beauty and praise God for it.

Why not sign up to pray and fast on any day between 13th and 23rd May?
